# Create Invite

> Invite a teammate to the caller's org by email (any member can invite).

- Normalizes email to lowercase.
- 409 if the email is ALREADY a member of this org.
- If a pending invite already exists for (org, email), returns it idempotently
AND re-sends the invite email (re-clicking Invite re-notifies).
- Generates a secure token, inserts a pending invite (expires now()+7d),
returns the invite incl. token + accept_url.
- Best-effort sends the invitee a transactional email with the accept link via
BaviMail (from notifications@bavlio.com), SCHEDULED as a FastAPI background
task so it adds zero latency to this request. Email failures NEVER block
invite creation. When the transactional creds are unset, the enrichment
lookups + scheduling are skipped entirely (no wasted work).
